Frequently asked questions

What does this write into my photos?

Your business name (title and author), a description with address and phone, your keywords, a copyright line, and GPS latitude/longitude. Your other EXIF data, like the original capture time, is left untouched.

Will geotagging make me rank higher on Google Maps?

Be realistic: Google generally strips most metadata when photos are uploaded to Google Business Profile, and it has never confirmed geotags as a ranking factor. Metadata still helps for photos on your own website, for your records, and for anyone who downloads them. The parts that clearly help SEO are descriptive file names and alt text, which is why this tool renames files too.

Which file types work?

JPEG only (.jpg / .jpeg). Convert PNG or WebP photos to JPEG first.

How do I find my coordinates?

Open Google Maps, right-click your business location, and click the two numbers at the top of the menu to copy them, then paste them into the Coordinates box.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. The metadata is written inside your browser, so your photos never leave your computer.
